Introduction
CleanIt AI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our mobile application.
The short version: We don't collect any of your data. All photo analysis happens entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your iPhone.
Information We Collect
We Collect Nothing
CleanIt AI is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information or user data. Specifically:
- We do NOT collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
- We do NOT access your photos outside the app
- We do NOT upload your photos to any server
- We do NOT track your location
- We do NOT collect analytics or usage data
- We do NOT use cookies or tracking technologies
- We do NOT require an account or registration
Photo Library Access
CleanIt AI requires access to your Photo Library to function. When you grant access:
- Photos are analyzed entirely on your device
- Analysis results (duplicates, similar photos, etc.) are stored locally
- No image data is ever transmitted over the internet
- Revoking photo access in Settings immediately stops all analysis
On-Device Processing
All features of CleanIt AI work entirely on your iPhone:
- Duplicate Detection: Perceptual hashes are computed locally
- Similar Photos: Image similarity algorithms run on-device using Core Image
- Blur Detection: Laplacian variance and edge detection happen locally
- Face Detection: Uses Apple's Vision framework, which processes on-device
- Screenshot Detection: Analyzed using PhotoKit metadata only
We specifically chose on-device processing to ensure your photos remain private. This means the app works even in Airplane Mode.
Data Storage
- Analysis Results: Stored locally on your device only
- User Preferences: Stored locally using UserDefaults
- Premium Status: Managed by Apple's StoreKit — we only receive confirmation of purchase, not payment details
- iCloud Backup: If enabled on your device, app preferences may be included in your iCloud backup (controlled by your iOS settings)
Third-Party Services
Apple App Store & StoreKit
For premium features, we use Apple's StoreKit framework. Apple's privacy policy governs information collected during purchase transactions. We receive only:
- Confirmation that a purchase was made
- Subscription status (active/expired)
We do NOT receive your payment information, Apple ID, or any personal details.
No Other Third Parties
We do not use any analytics services, crash reporting tools, or advertising networks. There are no third-party SDKs that collect user data.
Photo Deletion
When you choose to delete photos through CleanIt AI:
- Deletion requests go through Apple's PhotoKit framework
- iOS shows a system confirmation dialog before any deletion
- Deleted photos go to the "Recently Deleted" album (recoverable for 30 days)
- We cannot delete photos without your explicit confirmation
Children's Privacy
CleanIt AI does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences and contains no features that target children.
Your Rights and Choices
You have complete control:
- Revoke Access: Go to Settings → Privacy → Photos → CleanIt AI to revoke photo access at any time
- Delete App Data: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data
- No Account to Delete: Since we don't create accounts, there's nothing to delete on our end
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be indicated by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top
- Notification in the app for significant changes
Our commitment to not collecting your data will not change.
