Overview

Why KidDays?

Sharing custody means keeping track of whose night it is, which weekends were swapped, who was late for the handover and who paid for the school trip. It usually lives in scattered messages and memory, right until you need it to be clear. KidDays keeps it in one place.

How it works: pick your schedule once (week on week off, 2-2-3, 5-2-2-5, every other weekend or your own pattern) and the calendar fills itself. Mark swaps and holidays, note what happened at an exchange, log shared costs with a receipt, and see the balance at a glance. When you need a summary, KidDays turns it into a clear PDF.

KidDays is a private record for one parent. It doesn't message the other parent and doesn't need their phone. No sign-up, no cloud account: your record stays on your device, locked with Face ID if you like.

Features

What You Get

📅 A Calendar That Knows Your Schedule

Week on week off, 2-2-3, 5-2-2-5, every other weekend or a custom 14-night pattern, with your exchange time. Swap single nights, mark whether a change was agreed, and assign whole holidays in one go.

🏠 Today at a Glance

Whose night it is tonight and until when, how many nights your child spends with you this month, unpaid expenses, and quick buttons to log a late arrival, a no-show, a note or an expense.

📝 A Journal You Can Rely On

Record late arrivals, no-shows, refused or agreed changes, missed calls and notes, with a photo or screenshot. Entries lock after 24 hours; later corrections are added as dated amendments, so the original stays intact.

💶 Shared Expenses

School, clothing, health and activities with your agreed split, who paid, and a photo of the receipt. KidDays keeps a running balance and shows what is still unpaid.

📄 Clear PDF Reports

Choose a period and what to include (calendar, journal, expenses) and get a tidy PDF with planned and actual nights, every entry with its amendments, and an expense statement with receipts.

📱 Widgets

Whose night it is and when you'll see your child next, on the Home Screen and Lock Screen. Names can be hidden from widgets.

Under the Hood

Built With

Swift SwiftUI WidgetKit LocalAuthentication PhotosUI UIKit PDF StoreKit 2 String Catalogs

Pure SwiftUI with a single, file-protected JSON record on the device, written atomically on every change and recovered safely if it ever can't be read. The schedule engine maps any date to a home from a 14-night rotation plus overrides, so swaps and holidays never disturb the base pattern.

Reports are drawn page by page with UIKit's PDF renderer, including attached photos and receipts. WidgetKit reads a small summary from the App Group, LocalAuthentication powers the lock screen that also covers the app switcher, and Pro is verified with StoreKit 2. Ten languages are generated into native String Catalogs from one translation source. No third-party dependencies.
